Friendly staff, nice SUV for the price.

The reservation was for a midsize SUV. I was first offered a Suzuki Vitara. Smaller than what I reserved. They did switch me to the vehicle I requested.

The guy was unhelpful and very rude, he talked to us with Attitude, we asked for a supervisor or manager and he was i’m the manager and i have the final answer.. after 5 minutes of arguing he decided to call his manager only to say that my documents where expires which it wasnt true..

You need to improve your Human resources. We went from Santo domingo to Santiago just to pick that suv and at the end we had to leave to another rental

They had me waiting 40 min at airport for pick-up. When he finally came around he mixed up my name and left after I told him I wasn't "Ruben" then he came back around when he called back and noticed he had the reservations mixed up. Secondly I bought and reserved everything online including insurance. So I had 2 insurance policy's, one from my credit card and the additional and only option you can buy online. Once at the counter he was forcing me to buy THEIR insurance for some bogus reason about not being covered for third party which was untrue. The whole wait time and trying to scam me into purchase additional coverage for no reason I decided to go with a different company that gave me a better price while I was waiting for his pickup. Horrible experience, tons of wasted time and not transparent with prices.

Car worked but could have been a little bigger

No pick up at terminal had to pay $20.00 US dollars to have a cab take me the equivalent of a 1/4 mile and shady as hell. The store was closing even though it was supposed to be open 24 hours and the guy said you should have called

When we booked our car with economy, there was no mention of the fact that the office was outside of the airport. We went up to the 12 desks of rental cars and asked where the Economy desk was located and one of the reps explained that a rep will meet you outside. We went outside and no one was there, so we went back k. After a couple of calls and another unsuccessful attempt to link up with Economy outside the airport, we decided to go back in and book with another car rental company (as thankfully cars were available). We had to pay over double the price of what we reserved on Economy. Terrible experience!

Car was fine. They had a very limited selection and had to force upgrade me (which cost me more in gas).

They did NOT accept the Allianz insurance I had purchased online via Kayak and insisted I purchase their insurance. This more than doubled the cost of the rental. Allianz did refund me, but Kayak should not offer this option if Hertz will not accept it.

When we went to pick up the car, we were told that they didnt have any cars available. There were others cars on the lot at a much higher price. Very disappointed as we were on vacation and were left in limbo at the last second.

That they would’ve notified us ahead of time of the availability of cars. At a minimum they should had let us rent a car of our choosing at the same or lower rate as our reservation.

You sell an insurance that Avis does not accept. I wasted $99 on Allianz insurance at the time of my booking and ended up having to pay almost triple for their insurance.

The entire check-in process. Upon arrival they told me that my reservation was "incorrect" even though my confirmation email was correct and therefore they had to "charge me more for the correct car"

Nothing I had a reservation, arrived to the counter at 230am after my arrival, and was informed they did not have a car for me, seems to be a common occurrence there were other people on the flight in the same situation, I ended up paying double and a drop off fee to get a cat to get to cabarete

Done the job correctly and had vehicles there knowing you had reservations arriving at 230am in a foreign country this is totally un acceptable, I thought Avis was a class act and k a y a k was zero assistance

The only thing I liked was that the vehicle was at the terminal, That's it.

At the time of pickup the agent was really aggressive on trying to sell me additional coverage that I didn't want, at one point he suggested that I was being cheap, which I thought it was very unprofessional. At the time of drop off, no one was at the counter, another agent from a different car rental company was able to get in touch with the agent for Avis and told that person to tell me that he was going to be there in 5 minutes, 45 minutes later, still no show, I had to leave the paperwork and keys at his desk so that I wouldn't miss my flight. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Nothing. Didn't end up renting from them. It felt like they were crooked and trying to rip me off.

They didn't honor the reservation. Didn't except the Discover insurance or Visa insurance. Were going to charge me more than the reservation. Ended up renting a vehicle for a 3rd of the cost elsewhere.

Honestly nothing about this rental was good

The scamming at counter by Daniel. Being charge for want I book but given a smaller car. Listening to Daniel the scammer tell his coworker to get the smaller one so they make more money. I don’t speak much Spanish but I understand it. So listening to it happen in my face was horrible. When dropping the car off no one was there. It took me an extra 30 minutes just to find out I have to park the car in the parking lot and leave key and ticket in drop box behind counter. All the other companies had employees present but dollar did not... first and last time I use them. Even if I see a deal I will just pay more for the better customer service and better treatment.... Bottom line avoid dolar rental in Santiago Dominican Republic and use others

I liked nothing about it.

When I went to pick up the car they were charging me a total of $488.00. When I reserved it total was only $177.00. They representative told me that Kayak is a 3rd party and that they do not honor whatever contact Kayak has offered me. I asked him to see the contact and it said no such thing. They are bad for business.

Service was quick

They tried to charge me for the windshield being chipped even though it was obvious those were there previously. Pay attention to every single detail when you pick up the car because they will charge you for ANYTHING when you drop it off.
