The car was actually kind of a piece of garbage. The AC got mediocre cool and the back passenger door wouldn't shut. I ended up having to rent from another car rental because the site.location couldn't fix the problem.

The car had the service engine light on when I rented it. They said it was because of the quality or lack of quality of gas available in Belize. Every time you started the car it said routine maintenance was due. The ASB lights came on from time to time while driving. When starting the car the next time it was cleared out. The car has an awful vibration when you reached speeds just below 50 mph. It was not in the steering wheel so I assumed the tires were out of balance. This was the forth time to rent a car from the airport in Belize. We have never seen such poor quality of a rental car and we have never seen the service engine light on because of the quality of the gas put in the car.

The agent returned to open so I could get a car. Sadly the car was really old and rattled a lot. Not an overall great experience.
The agents in Belize were excellent and very patient with us. We appreciated the tips they gave us and the time they spent making sure all was well.

I am a repeat customer at Alamo in Belize City, because they have always taken good care of me. They have also provided the most competitive prices. Several trips back I took a "better offer" from a competitor which ended up sending me to a third company, which in turn doubled the stated price. I went back to Alamo the next trip, and now for this trip.

Friendly service. Agent asked which of 2 cars would we prefer. Didn't see any road maps on the counter but we got one after asking. Fun driving on Hummingbird Highway!

Only a couple of international flights arrive in the evening in Belize City and everyone knows their schedule. Our flight was delayed leaving Houston, it arrived an hour late and when we got to the AVIS place at 5:30 we found the the person working there had gone home at 5:00. Other rental companies were open and waiting for passengers. We rented a car from one of them.

Well, they didn't have a car for me so I waste don't $25USD on a cab to the airport from Belize City and then had to spend another $25 to get back into the city. I'm a go with the flow travler so it didn't ruin anything persay , but my entire plans had to change that day. Horrible service, call ahead and make sure they have a car ready for you!!!! Belize was incredible though:)

I reserved this car a month in advance since I was traveling in a party of 6 and wanted to be sure to have a vehicle large enough to carry us all. Our plane landed at 4:45, it was 5 by the time we went through customs and retrieved our luggage, Avis was closed. We had to find another rental company. We were lucky that the other rental company had a vehicle large enough for us, but it was a 15 passenger van and cost alot more. I will never rent through Avis again because of this.

Rented a car from Avis through kayak for my trip to Belize. Once in Belize airport Avis I was told no cars were available and sent to another company that would honor the rental price. However I ended up having to pay about US $150 more for the car. Also I was told the third party rental car insurance I bought through kakak's site would not be honored and was pressured into buying the local rental company's insurance.
The agency we originally made a reservation through did not have a car available when we arrived. They were kind in asking other agencies if they could assist us, but the vehicle we managed to secure was in very very poor shape mechanically. The trip across the country for the nearly two weeks was very difficult with such an unreliable and dangerously maintained vehicle. It was an adventure.
