Liked getting a relatively new car. Had to wait VERY long time in line at pickup. Only one agent, and a very slow process for completing the paperwork. Also there was no staff at the airport until about 45 minutes before my flight boarded. Need to have staff there a couple hours before departure. And PLEASE do something to bring the insurance cost down! If insurance stays this high, we will take taxis instead of renting b

They had the exact car we reserved.

We paid at the counter and all prices were quoted in US dollars. When returning the car, they showed me a bill that displayed a charge of $425 in US dollars. It also showed the price in Mexican Pesos and what looked like a favorable conversion rate. When I got home and checked my credit card bill I had actually been charged $485. Very tricky practice.

We showed up in Loreto only to find out that there was not a car for us even though we had a reservation. We were one of 10 other travelers stuck in the same situation. FYI Ace, Fox and Mexcar are all the same company. Do not rent from any of them!!

The pick up process was very slow. Service was good, but slow. As the rental car companies get busy when your flight comes in, they are often not that well staffed. Drop off was excellent. Car was fine.

Price of insurance was very suspicious. I was initially quoted an unreasonable amount I couldn't afford ($1062), and then the priced dropped substantially (to $697, which is still much more than anticipated) when it became apparent that I was going to be forced to cancel the rental. Additionally, there was nobody at the rental counter when I showed up at the time indicated on my reservation, so I had to wait for roughly 30 minutes before the lengthy check out process even began. It would behoove Hertz to have pre-established insurance prices, regardless of the foreign destination to avoid local price gouging.

They charged us a daily insurance that we did not agree to and would not reverse the charge. The employee told my husband it would be $30 for the entire week for insurance, but they charged us $30 per day on top of our rental rate. Complete ripoff

The Kayak quote was $178, but when I went to pick up the car it was $528. And they put a $1,000 hold on my credit card while I had the car. When I got to the airport at noon on Saturday to return the car, there wasn’t any Europcar employees at the airport to process the return. They were all at a different Europcar location and I waited 35 minutes for drive to get to the airport to check me in. If I had gotten to the airport any later I would have missed my flight due to the rental car return process.

Despite having a reservation, they didn't have a car for us. We went to another location and waited over 30 minutes but no workers came there. We don't recommend EuropCar unless you are certain they have a car for you - don't trust an online reservation .

I was surprised at the amount of required Mexican insurance that wasn't included in the price of the car when I made the reservation on line. When I picked up the car, they said it was a third-party transaction and that's why the costs were different. Live and learn!!

Rental agent wrote down random prices for mandatory insurance on a half sheet of paper, then charged us a different amount on the credit card. Car had numerous cosmetic issues (not complaining, just reporting). No one was available to drop off the car until about 10 minutes before we started to board the plane. Outside of that, everyone who worked for the company was very helpful and positive, and the car worked fine for our purposes. But the insurance ended up more than doubling the price of the car, and we had to wait more than an hour to finish the rental process.

Everything was stop notch, the only thing I just did not like watched it I got charge For the car rental but when we arrived at the airport in Loreto Mexico I had to pay the same amount for insurance even though I told him I was covered by my platinum credit card. The sales person told me they did not except credit card insurance. Other than that they gave me a brand-new car that work perfectly.

It wasn't clear that I had to buy additional rental insurance for the car. It ended up being more than the actual rental with all the extra fees they charged. The pickup also took over an hour. I was the last person in the airport.
