Linking Trips to your Calendar

Trip feed -vs- file

If you use a program which supports calendar feeds (listed below) you should almostcertainly use a feed. A calendar feed will update automatically whereas a calendar file(.ics) is static and therefore will need to be re-downloaded if you make any edits or additionsto your trip.

    How to add a calendar feed to Google Calendar

  1. Copy one of the calendar feed links from the bottom of the Trips settings page.
  2. In another browser window or tab navigate to your Google Calendar.
  3. Click the down arrow to the right of "Other calendars" on the left.
  4. Click "Add by URL" within the menu.
  5. Paste the link copied from step "1a." into the box.
  6. Click the "Add calendar" button.
  7. Note: Click the calendar you just added in order to display it.

    How to add a calendar feed to MS Outlook 2007

  1. Copy one of the calendar feed links from the bottom of the Trips settings page.
  2. Launch MS Outlook 2007.
  3. Click the "Tools" menu and select "Account Settings".
  4. Click the "Internet Calendars" tab within the "Account Settings" dialog.
  5. Click the "new" button.
  6. Paste the link copied from step "1b." into the box.
  7. Name your calendar within "Subscription options".
  8. Your calendar will be displayed on the left within "other calendars".
  9. Note: Merge your calendar by clicking the arrow on your new trip calendar tab.

    How to add a calendar feed to Apple iCal

  1. Copy one of the calendar feed links from the bottom of the Trips settings page.
  2. Launch Apple iCal
  3. Select "Subscribe" from the "Calendar" menu
  4. Paste the link copied from step "1c." into the "Calendar URL" box
  5. Click the "Subscribe" button
  6. Modify anything you want on the next dialogue box
  7. Your calendar will be listed on the left side navigation below "Subscriptions"

    How to add a calendar feed to Apple iPhone

  1. Copy one of the calendar feed links from the bottom of the Trips settings page.
  2. Paste the link copied from step "1d." into an email
  3. Send the email to your iPhone
  4. Open the email on your iPhone
  5. Click the link within the email on your iPhone
  6. Click the "Subscribe" button on the dialogue that appears
  7. Click the "View Events" button to go to your trip calendar feed or click the "Done" button.

    How to export & import an .ICS file to MS Outlook 2003

  1. Click the "Add to calendar" link at the top-right of your trip details page.
  2. Click the "Export to .ICS format" link
  3. Choose to save the file instead of opening it, when prompted
  4. Note: Opening or double-clicking the .ics file will either create a new calendaror only add the first appointment in your trip to your calendar (depending onyour version of Outlook). For best results import the .ics file. Read below.

  5. Launch MS Outlook, and choose
  6. "Import and Export" from the File menu
  7. Choose the option to Import an iCalendar file from the box that pops up
  8. Browse to the file you saved in step "3e.", and select it
  9. Choose the "Import" button to add the data to your existing calendar.
