Peak season:

The popular seasons vary quite a lot depending on where exactly in India you want to visit. Again it depends on where in the country you are going but tourists are starting to flock into the country during the monsoon season to experience the extreme weather. December to February are the coolest months of the year in most areas but the climate is varied depending on the area. Book your flights to India in advance and once you’ve decided on your location have a look to see what the winter months are to see when it best to book.

How to get from the airport to the city centre?

Goa Airport:

Most high-standard hotels provide airport transfers to and from the airport so check with your hotel before booking to see if this is included. Failing that your best option is a pre-paid taxi booth outside of the airport. Make sure to use the pre-paid booth to avoid being ripped off. You can get buses to the city centre but they are very irregular and always overcrowded making the journey extremely uncomfortable. There is also a train station 1km out of the airport, so this is an option if your hotel doesn’t offer you a free transfer and the price of a taxi puts you off.

New Delhi Airport:

The easiest and most convenient method of transport is to jump on the new airport express. It runs from 04:30am until 11:30pm and takes around 25 minutes to get into the heart of the city. You can also opt for a taxi from outside of the airport although it will cost you a lot more and take longer. Taxis can be a good option though if you have a lot of baggage or if there are a few of you to split the fare.

Mumbai Airport:

Taxis are your best option to get into the city. Make sure to pick a pre-paid taxi though as opposed to the metered ones to make sure you don’t end up paying a lot more than you need to. Bus services are available but they aren’t direct. There are routes that take you to the train station although it is quite simply easier to jump into a pre-paid taxi. There are trains available and they are the quickest way to get you into the city however you’ll need to get a bus to the train station beforehand.
