Peak season:

The peak season varies depending on where in the country you want to go however you’ll generally struggle to find the cheapest flights to Tunisia from June to August as more tourists flock to the sunshine. May until early June are wonderful times to secure your flight tickets as the weather is warm and reliable but cheap flights to Tunisia are easier to come by. November is the best month to visit the south as longer expeditions into the Sahara Desert are possible. There are also desert festivals around November too so make sure to plan ahead and secure your flight tickets well in advance to avoid overpaying.

Off season:

You’ll find the cheapest flights to Tunisia from January to late February or early March. These are the quietest months of the year and you can find good deals on accommodation as well as on flight tickets. September can sometimes offer cheap flights to Tunisia too as most of the summer tourists are leaving as autumn kicks in.

How to get from the airport to the city centre?

Tunis:

The easiest way to get to the city is to jump on bus number 35. This goes to both the city and the train station so if you’re not intending on staying in Tunis you can get a bus to the train station. Failing that you’ll have to opt for a taxi. These are more expensive than the bus but more convenient as you don’t have to wait for them. You’ll find them directly outside of the airport but make sure to agree on a fee before getting in.

Djerba:

To make your transition smoother once you’ve booked your flights to Tunisia, it’s worth looking into the transport options you can choose from. Generally you’ll be rather limited to just taking a taxi. They aren’t overly expensive and are quite a common way to travel Djerba. Buses are available but their schedules are unreliable and unless you know the times they arrive, you’ll struggle to find them. Lastly you could rent a car from the airport although it’s safer to just get a taxi.
