The reservation sent me to a Budget Rent a Car location in Ottawa that no longer existed. After taking a taxi from the Ottawa airport to the location identified in my rental agreement, I learned from the local car dealership that this budget location closed a while ago, so there was no Budget dealer, or Budget car there. I called Budget Customer Service, and they said this was not their problem. The only thing they would do is transfer my reservation back to the Ottawa airport and I could get a car there, however it would be over $200 more. I repeatedly explained that I had a reservation for a Budget car, at this location, for a specified price, but the agent didn't care. The local car dealership even got on the phone with the Budget agent and explained the situation, and described how I was the third customer in the last few weeks to arrive at their dealership looking for a Budget car, but the Budget Customer Service agent didn't care, he just kept saying this was not their problem. It took me 2hrs of hassle, a taxi fare, and an extra $200 in the rental to get a vehicle. The car dealership drove me and my daughter back to the Ottawa airport, and I greatly appreciated their kindness.
