I will never use Kayak again and I promise to let all yelp users know. I made reservations for a car rental at LAX 6 weeks before my trip to LA. Once I got to LA, I found out that Kayak had made the reservation at an Enterprise location 50 miles away from the airport. Now I don't know street names in LA so I had no idea this was the case until I tried to pick up my car at the Enterprise LAX location. It was January 26th and every single car rental facility was completely booked. I could not find a car anywhere. Kayak did not have a phone number published so I was unable to talk with anyone there for assistance. I eventually found a car at Allied car rental over a mile away and ended up paying double the price I had originally had reservations for. And got totally inferior car. Never using Kayak again and making sure to spread the word.

The Chevy Bolt was a major hassle. Having an electric car without a charger as a rental is a very bad idea. I was told it was easy to charge and could use a "fast charge" station to do this. Even in Los Angeles this is not easy to do. I missed 2 appointments while trying to find a place to charge. I ended up in a mall walking around with my wife for an hour while the car was charging only to find out that after an hour it had only added 20 more miles to the car. I was able to find a fast charge but every one else is too- we had to wait 30 minutes just to use the station and then the "fast charge" took an hour to charge up to full. Never again will I rent an electric car or even have the desire to own one.

I couldn’t get a car even though I prepaid. They said they don’t have a car due to shortness of cars. The second day still they didn’t have a car. Terrible experience. I will never rent from them again

Very disorganized. Did not get what I rented. Payment process was sloppy . The whole management of the location was subpar.

Staff as fine.

The car was really dirty and the back tires were bald. Also a weird clicking noise in the car. I doubt I’ll be using the service ever again. Definitely not value for what I paid. Pretty disappointed.

We booked a car online for you pick up at 9am only to find out the car would not be available until 1pm. We were moved to a different dealership but still had to pick up the car 2 hours late. We were then told we could not extend our rental as we were going to be late dropping off the car on the same day due to picking it up 2 hours late. We were driving from LA to SAN Francisco and due to the delay we missed out seeing tourist spots along the drive. Overall very disappointed with this service.

They charge you too much for gas, almost more than I paid for the car rental, i used only quarter of tank, and they charged me $70. There is no specific way to measure the gas used, whatever the person who check the car decide what to pay, so I recommend to put gas before the drop off

i thought i was booking a car @ LAX as that it what it put in location. But, the rental location was in studio city, 45-60 mins away. not knowing the area, i assumed it was at LAX. i had to rent a car from another company @ LAX - my Budget rental was non-refundable so i was scammed out of $300 and was a huge nightmare finding another car. i won't book again on Kayak

I was unable to collect the vehicle. I had forgotten my licence and as it was booked in my name even though we were adding a driver they would not allow it without my licence. So i tried ringing them in US but went to answer machine even though office hours and nobody rang me back. Im now owed £640!!

I arrived at LAX, and naturally had to go to SIXT close to LAX to pick up my rental, they had it in fine print that my pick-up location was 23 miles away. I got a cab the fare was about $80.00. not only SIXT would not refund me the cab fare but also not wave the fee of the return the rental car at the LAX branch, I had to pay an additional $95.00 or maybe a little more. I Talked to two different managers and none of the was helpful at all!!! Bad experience. M.A.R

The attendant checking in was not pleasant and lackluster. The car smelled like the previous user was a smoker. There was a considerable amount of “charges” deemed as “tax” when I dropped off my vehicle. $46 was charged and the attendant could not tell me the reason behind the charge other than it was a tax. Also, they charged me for gas when I had filled the tank before I dropped the car off. If I had not asked for a receipt- this price gauge would have remained in my bill. I will not do business with Avis/Budget again and will be reporting to the BBB. I was shocked that in these difficult times this rental car company is price gauging people with no reason. Don’t do business with this company. They obviously don’t care about the customer.

The car was great - clean, ran well. Pickup went smoothly, etc.

I called customer service on my way to return to set up a ride home and was treated to the absolute WORST customer service team in my life,in any business. "Tony",as he insisted on being called (as he refused to give his full name or number) has "I'm telling you like it is" as his mantra. Horrible.

They did not have the car I reserved and would not help me in any way. They gave me no notification so I walked all the way there. They wouldn’t bring a car from another location. And they wouldn’t even give me a ride home. Will never rent from them again!
