Cheap Car Rentals in Crystal City, Arlington

It was annoying to get to the rental location.

I got a last minute reservation with Alamo after Budget didn’t have the car that I reserved available. Alamo let me exchange my car halfway through the rental for a better fit. No surprises with the price or service. All of the reps I interacted with were helpful and friendly.

No staff to rent car at kiosk in parking garage. Had to go downstairs and then come back. Would have been nice to at least out a sign in the garage kiosk

Second time booking with budget and they have manage to bill me twice each time for vehicle that had prepaid

the car wasn't clean as expected

It said on the website debit card authorization, but due to airport policy I was unable to pick up without a credit card. Therefore I didn't receive my rental. The garage area also had poor reception when I had to work with Discover.

Took more than an hour for me to get the car. Long line a d car not ready

The check in process at a Washington National is absolutely abysmal. There were 60 people in line and only two people working. It took almost 2 hours to rent the car by the time I got to the counter the counter person was very nice and professional. I had zero issues with that person, but there should’ve been at least two other people working if you want to treat your customers, right I won’t rent again from thrufty.

Having more cars available.

The pickup experience was so bad we canceled after waiting nearly two hours to get a car. Never use Avis again.

The staff at both locations were very nice. Wouldn’t change a thing about either. The vehicle was in bad shape. Smelled unpleasant and had what looked like dog hair all over it. A few broken things inside. Handles to compartments were missing and therefore rendered the compartment useless. It got us from point A to B, but at that price, I’d expect a clean and fully operational vehicle.

The vehicle I received upon pickup had an airbag issue that kept producing a warning signal when I drove off. The second vehicle I received after exchanging it looked like it still needed some TLC to ensure cleanliness.

The car I initially drove out of the airport ran so rough when I got it out on the highway (tires out of balance, alignment, engine tune up?), I had to return it for another vehicle. Was told to stand in line at the counter for another 45 minutes (two agents, very long line), only to learn that I should have been told to go to another place entirely. Then there is the matter of learning at the counter of the previously unadvertised, undisclosed $15 per day fee (for entire rental period) to use the electronic (Easy Pass) device OR pay penalties and tolls for EVERY TOLL PLAZA! Crazy policy. Hertz (Thrifty's co-brand) charges $6 per day only on the days you use the device plus tolls. Fee was so embarrassing, it wasn't even on the counter card describing the device, or on the Thrifty website as far as I could find.

Easy pick up and drop off. The vehicle was not good. Drove poorly, had vibrations at highway speed and bad alignment.
