Tough to contact since toll free numbers never answered. Confusing that this location was shared with two other car companies and made it to difficult to find a direct number. Also the location closed early on Sat which was weird. Great price thought when all other companies were gouging people.

Poor|Aug 2022Not Alamo's fault. priceline never mentioned to me until pick-up date that the rental office would be twenty miles from the Orlando airport, with no shuttle service. Rental wound up being way more expensive than my Avis member discount. It also really put a damper on my visit as more time had to be allotted to planning the trip from and to the rental office away from the airport.

Drop off at this location was horrible. Both uber drivers had problems getting there as gates were locked and there were no signs indicating they were behind a hotel through security.

Wonderful|Nov 2020Everyone was so nice. And when we went to pick up our compact car, the agent looked at my 6’5” son and said that she didn’t think he would fit in the compact. So she upgraded us to a larger car. Definitely earned my respect and future business. Thanks. :)

Poor|Aug 2020Enterprise cancelled my reservation with no explanation. It just disappeared. I was stranded miles away from my final destination, with no cars available at other agencies.

Poor|Apr 2019I got my money refunded!!
We arrived at the Marriott Hotel in Orlando Florida to pick up our pre paid for rental car. Our flight was a couple of hours late arriving due to mechanical problems. We did arrive at her office within the Marriott Hotel at 5:50 to find that the lady already had left for the day!!!! We also called her phone when we arrived at the Orlando airport to give her a heads up that we are on our way but she never answered her phone. We called many numbers that we could find to figure this out. We did understand that there wasn't anything they could do until they talked with the lady in question. We took yet another cab to the motel we were staying at for the night. We finally got a hold of the gal in the morning. First she was a little apologetic saying she would call me back in a while. She did finally call me back and said that she was at her desk until 6:00 p.m. I told her that that wasn't the case because we were there at 5:50 and were told from another disgruntled customer, that she had left at 5:45! She rudely said that there wasn't a refund or car and too bad for us. She then said that since we were two hours late picking up our prepaid car we were just out of luck because we were more than two hours late, we had no recourse. She stated that this was the policy!!!! We asked to speak to a manager, her reply was to call the 800 number that we had called in the first place. We did call that number and filed a complaint against her. They stated that they could see if they could find me a car or if I wanted, I could file a complaint against her. We chose the later!! Another cab fee to our condo for a total of $148.00 in cab fees. Our vacation resort did help us find a car, we were so grateful. I'm just surprised that a respected company, Hertz has such a rude person with their name behind them. On a side note, her office was a complete mess!! I don't think it had been vacuumed in quite awhile!!

Poor|Aug 2022This was a terrible experience. I got to Hertz to pick up my rental and they didn't have any cars available for me despite having a reservation and confirmation. They had no solutions for resolution! Terrible customer service.

Poor|Jul 2021We waiting in line at the Orlando Airport for 45 minutes to be told we had to go off site to pick up our van. Took a cab, at least $60 later we arrive at the address and are told that the address they gave us on the print out never had a Hertz counter! (I believe this is a Kayak problem, not Hertz). We kept the cab and started to go to another address, while calling and talking with Hertz. At $80 we gave up and went to Alamo, $100 cab ride. But I will say, Hertz did say they would refund the money we already paid for this van. It will take awhile, of course, so we are still waiting. This was a pretty awful experience, so beware, check your reservation carefully. We do not recommend going through any of the services like Kayak or Priceline. GO directly to the rental car company.

Poor|Apr 2021The pick up and drop off location was closed. I was stuck in the airport for two hours trying to find anyone who would help me get a car. It wasn’t until I reached my breaking point that I finally had someone help me and get me a car.
Be more flexible and have more staff available. When I called about the car rental, it kept directing me to hotel.

Poor|Mar 2021When I arrived there was a sign that said the location was closed and offered phone numbers for 2 Thrifty locations across town. I called them and they did not have the vehicle I reserved available. I ended up with NO rental car despite having reserved more than 30-days in advance.
Kayak should not partner with Thrifty. The pickup location I was sent to was closed and Thrifty did not have any rental to accommodate my reservation. If you book with Thrifty, you might end up with NO RENTAL CAR like we did.

Poor|Jul 2021The location did not exist. The location of pick up moved in January. I booked in March for a placed that was supposed to exist. Dollar staff was useless in trying to resolve the situation. Poor treatment and lack of professionalism. Paid for a service that I did not receive. Absolutely business fraud.

Poor|Apr 2021Absolutely nothing. When I got to Orlando and Uber to the rental car counter it wasn’t even open. No cars were available. Here I am in Orlando on vacation with no vehicle. Call Dollar they said they could do nothing for me. That I had to go through Priceline. I called Priceline they said they could do nothing for me because I needed to go through kayak. Called Kayak and they said I needed to cancel my reservation and make another reservation. There were no cars available at the price I was originally paying. They wanted more than double what I was originally paying. They were very unhelpful and really didn’t care that I had an issue. I tried getting some type of discount code so I can try to get another vehicle somewhere else. They said no codes were available. I ended up finding a car not through you people and it ended up costing me $580. I was not very happy but at least they had a vehicle. I don’t think I will ever go through Priceline kayak or deal with dollar rental car again because of the customer service sucks.

Everything!! I reserved a rental car to be picked up and dropped off at Orlando International Airport (MCO). Upon arrival at the Dollar Car Rental desk at MCO, they informed me that they had no rental car for my reservation because the pick-up location on the reservation was in downtown Orlando which was nearly 20 miles away from the airport. I paid a taxi more than $50 to drive me to this pick up location only to be told that this location is for drop offs only. They do not offer the service to pick-up a rental car at their location. I called the Dollar Rental desk at the Orlando Airport and they said they have no cars available. Now I have a reservation but no rental car. I called the reservation line several times to describe my situation and was repeatedly disconnected when asked to be placed on hold. When I tried to get an alternate vehicle the cost was well over $1,000 due to spring break limited availability. I had to spend 4 days in Orlando with no rental car and no easy way to travel around town.

Poor|Mar 2021They charged us an extra 277 dollars because they told us the wrong pick up site. The girl at the counter said it was an extra 50 dollars but the actual.charge was 277. Will never rent from dollar again.

Very Good|Dec 2021Our rep was very pleasant and brought our car to us quickly. The rental we got was just the right size, and it ran smoothly during our day trip. We did find ants in the weirdest spot, the visor on the driver side. I couldn’t blame the inspectors, because it was such a random spot that ants would be in, but our rep did take care of the situation, so thank you :) Drop off was a breeze.

Poor|Sep 2022I booked a car rental BMW convertible, made a payment through the kayak application, came to pick up the car and it was not available, I was offered to change it for an Audi convertible, which was $70 more expensive and I had to agree to a replacement. when I received the audi car, it had a lot of damage on the left passenger side, upon completion of the lease, one of the scratches that existed when receiving the car was tried to be pinned on me. be careful and make detailed video and photo fixation of the car

Picking up/getting the car took awhile due to technical/computer issues. The car also could have been a little cleaner. There was some dried/spilled food on the side of the driver’s seat.

Confirmed pickup time was 11pm. I booked a convertible for special occasion and surprise. So I took my wife via Uber from another hotel where we stayed. (20$). When we arrived at the desk at 11pm, we had to wait ~30 minutes since the sole employee (trainee) was struggling to help the 1 customer in front of us. 11:30 he walked away from the desk with the other people without letting us know what was going on. After 5 minutes I called the phone number mentioned at the desk for when nobody was there. The person at that number was oblivious what was going on and his only advise was to wait. Few minutes later the trainer arrived back. Then the ‘gun’ really started. Turned out that the convertible was not there at all... delivery time at minimal 1 hour as of that moment. No other option than to take another car or wait at minimum 1 hour more. After stating that I would take a small car instead but then obviously to a lower rate, he indicated he could not do that; ‘have to speak to manager’. His manager was put on the phone with me and promised me to give the along going rate with the smaller car and a discount for the inconvenience. He also promised the trainee to be there in 5 minutes ‘more or less’. That turned out to be more I guess because the next 20 he did not show up at least. So the trainee started to do the paperwork and then it turned out that he was about to charge me even more than for the convertible...! That kind of made me upset. I asked him to get his manager back on the phone but the trainee indicated that his manager hung up on him before. At that time I conclude that this was not leading anywhere and to look for another way to surprise my wife for our special occasion. Her ~1.5 hour wait in the lobby of a strange hotel was then at least done. All by all, bad-bad performance by Avis. Trainee all alone at a desk not knowing what to do. Manager lying and not backing up his employee. Customer experience worked ever. Formal complaint to Avis will be filed.
