Don’t rent electric cars

This is the most terrible car rental experience I have ever had in my life.

Quicker pickup when I tried to call on the phone.

Our flight was delayed so we got there one and a half hour after our scheduled pickup time. We waited 20 minutes for them to "clean and sanitize" only to get in it and it was gross. Seats had powder on thim, smelled like cigarettes, food on radio controls, tobacco leaves near the shifter, and overall dirty. We will never rent from this location ever again.

Absolutely TERRIBLE experience. I called Enterprise 3 days prior to travel and was told everything was confirmed. I was told on the phone there was a free shuttle from Portland airport to our pick up location (downtown Portland). There was no shuttle from airport once we arrived. We paid for a Lyft to our pick up location and arrived at 12:50 (50 minutes after our arranged pickup time due to looking for free shuttle at airport). When we arrived there was a sticky note on the door of our enterprise saying "Went to lunch be back at 1pm." We waited as until 2:15 until the manager of enterprise arrived. Once she arrived the manager told us she didn't have our phone number so she was unable to call us. The car she provided had completely bald tires and was unsafe to drive. The only other car available was a completely electric car that we were told would need 2.5 hours to reach full charge. We were already late for a wedding due to the late arrival of manager so we took the car which was unacceptable to us because we had a long road trip planned after our wedding through the rainforest and knew charging ports would not be available on our journey. We arrived late to our wedding and then again traveled to a local Enterprise the following day to exchange the car for gas powered car. The manager was very accommodating the following day however this did not make up for the awful experience. The car we were given for the remainder of our trip had many dings and scratches and also did not have full tread on the tires. Overall this was a terrible experience and I will not be using Priceline/Kayak or Enterprise in the future.

I had a 1 hr 40 minute window from my Amtrak arrival in Portland to the downtown office closing at 5PM. My train was 2 hrs late and the office downtown closed. I had called numerous times during the trip when I had service to make them aware of the delay. They didn't keep the office open past 4:45 pm (phone went straight to voicemail at that point). This seems like a very early closing time for a downtown office and they did not go above and beyond with 8 hours prior notice of an impending customer issue. I had to redirect my rental to the airport. This came at 2x the cost per day plus an Uber to thebairport, and had to book my car 2 days further out than I had planned to drop the car on Boise, ID. The people on the phone had to be told this extra 2 day trick by me as I was getting the ' we have no cars available at the airport for you' routine based on my original booking and had the beg them to try pushing the dates out further which magically allowed their system to release a previously unavailable car to me. Ultimately, I returned my car im Boise 3 days early compared to the new booking. So, I had to game their system to get my original booking to 'work' and they didn't know how to game their own system. Had I not figured this out, I am not certain what would have happened. Still, having to rent thru the airport was 2x the cost per day and that couldn't be adjusted to matchbmy original rate either. Their staff are disempowered to take take care of customers when it matters the most amd aren't creative when it does either. The car windows were filthy upon taking the car and bought windex wipes once I assessed the unsafe visibility situation in a setting sun glare an hour later enroute to Astoria, OR. My rental cost me about $200 more than expected even when I turned in my car a day earlier than I planned. Else, it would have been closer to $500 with the originally planned turn in time or $1000 more had I kept the car for the full new booking.

Price was very good. Car was a good car for my time in the area. Car was very dirty and had scratches on the right door. I took a photo on my phone, and wrote down on the form regarding scratches, and was told I could drop it off before or after renting the car. I went to do it before I left, and the line was so long that people were pushed back outside the very small office in which 15 people were now ahead of me. Decided to drop it off when I returned the car, which I did.

Weekly rate quoted in reservation not honored during check in. Three phone calls have not resolved the issue.

Too many cars at one time and it was backed up so many that people were leaving them which made me leave mine. Should have been better organized.

The line to pick up the car took about an hour & a half. The car smelled of cigarettes, had not been washed with bugs on the windshield, had crackers on the floor, dirt & dust on the dashboard and dry mud on the back of the front passenger seat. Clearly the car wasn’t serviced - we would have gone back to the counter but it was still a mob scene. Truly the worst rental car experience ever!

The car had a bad smell so I had to buy an air freshener. Not ideal having passengers or giving the car to valet when there’s a stench like that.
