The employee at Budget showed up late. Another customer and I were standing around for ~20 minutes. (He arrived around 9:20, and the place was supposed to be open at 7:00. He gave no explanation.) He then proceeded to give me a car that only had a quarter tank of gas (I was in the middle of Manhattan without easy access to a gas station), and the car was filthy inside. The windshield washer fluid dispenser wasn’t working, and when I bought fluid to try to fill it, I realized the dispenser was just totally broken. I called customer service, and I received no money off my trip. He was very curt. I was basically told that it was already generous that he offered me a $30 coupon for another rental. I rent cars often, and I have never experienced this. An absolutely terrible operation. Avoid if you can.
