The person who checked me out told me I had fuel forgiveness but I got charged $70 for bringing it back with 3/4 of a tank and Hertz says they made no notes so it stands and the location is impossible to get a person on the phone to discuss.

There were a number of electrical issues with the car, and they "upgraded" me to a much larger, far less fuel efficient car without giving me any option. The sensor on the blind spot was faulty and dinged off and on across my 22 hour drive, and the audio controls also had issues. The stereo would randomly jump or drop significantly in volume, and the sensor for the trunk was also faulty, frequently saying the trunk was open when it was not, and would come on randomly while driving.

Our flight in was canceled, causing us to delay pickup by two days. Hertz wanted to charge and additional $200 to change our pickup to two days later (with the same return date). We opted to just cancel our reservation, which resulted in a $100 cancellation fee. Absolutely absurd.

Got upgraded to a small SUV for free.

Spent over 40 minutes in line at the counter to get a car (only 2 agents present), and the car I was assigned at the counter didn't match the car in the spot.

My drop off location was at an unmarked office downtown Tampa by the convention center. I drove around in crazy traffic for half an hour looking for the drop off location. I eventually learned I had to go to the valet parking area of the Embassy Suites building. The city doesn't allow any signs or markings. THERE REALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A NOTE SOMEWHERE IN THE PAPERWORK.

The pick up time was nearly an hour. I had to wait for the attendant to return to the store and unlock the door. The process took forever. Then she had to go somewhere and het the car and wash it and bring it around which took another 30 minutes.

Picked up a Jeep Cherokee in Tampa and the service at the pick up counter was friendly, professional and polite. Returned the Jeep at the airport and it was fast and easy. Makes you wonder why all car rentals company are not like this.

Never received the rental. Enterprise called me 30 minutes before I was supposed to pick it up & told me nothing was available, they would call me back at 3pm when the returns came in, Never received a call. I called to check, still nothing available. Zach/Colin told me that Saturday morning would be better & they would call me then. NOTHING! Extremely poor service! If nothing is available, do not confirm the rental!

The car smelled so heavily of cigarette smoke that the windows had to be rolled down at all times. Despite addition signage pledging Enterprises commitment to cleanliness, the car had clearly not been wiped down as there were fingerprints on almost every surface.

Even thought I called a week, and again a day in advance to confirm reservation, I was told the morning of the rental that if I didn't arrive at the office when it opened, I could not be guaranteed a vehicle. The car that I was given smelled so terribly of disinfectant, we had to purchase bottles of vinegar to dissipate odors. We also had to leave windows open at night and wash all clothes that came in contact with seats and floors.

The website added a pick up location away from where I asked. I was very specific in my search to ask for a specific airport pickup. and when we arrived at the airport site they said they had no reservation, the site where our reservation was closed, they had no cars at all. They offered no help other than yo try the other car rental counters in the airport. Flip side was Thrifty/Dollar who offered many suggestions for dealing with Alamo (try Uber to hotel & Uber back in the morning), and then worked hard to not only find a car my husband could fit in, but reduced the price as best they could to come close to matching the price we got from Alamo.

Great customer service. Kayak’s website mistakenly allowed me to rent a rental car that was not at the airport rental. In lieu of charging me double for the reservation, the agent helped me get a new reservation at only a 50% increase versus a 100% increase from my reservation rate.

Dear national Or third party! I’m waiting for car rental National to refund me the funds they took from my account on two different transactions! On the date I return the car to the same location I picked the car as planned the staff were not what is going! Very disappointed. I want my money! And I’m going to put in a complaint

It wasn’t National’s fault, it was Kayak’s fault. You booked a car at a location that was closed, never sent a confirmation email and then offered no help in rebooking. The supervisor I talked to on the phone was rude and ended up hanging up. Completely disappointed with the way you guys left me stranded. I’ve never been treated like this by a company for something that was their fault. Never using Kayak or any affiliated companies again.

The staff was very helpful and the office was clean. They came out and helped me hook up my blue tooth when I asked. Very friendly.

My car was dirty and smelled pretty bad from a smoker. They did give it a quick wash for me, but the smell lasted for my whole trip.

Car was supposed to be at airport in Tampa. Find out some how my reservation was for Tampa 5 miles away. Had to take a taxi from airport to car rental place 10 mins away. And wanted to charge us 160$ at airport when we booked for 40$. And this car is not in good running condition.
