Poor|Aug 2020The rental didn’t even happen because even though we called their corporate customer service and had the pickup time changed the number they had for the local office at the Boise airport was disconnected and turns out their office closes at 5 pm and they don’t offer any sort of after hours pick up.

Poor|Jan 2020Information on Debit card use. There was no indication that before a 24 hour reservation a debit card could not be used. Then the rules with a debit card are absurd.

Wonderful|Jan 2018The young man who checked us out in the Boise airport (sorry that I am not able to remembe his name) was extremely helpful and very friendly. The process for both picking up and returning the vehicle went very smoothly. Jesus at SeaTac was also friendly and helpful. The car was clean and comfortable. It was a great value.

Wonderful|Jul 2022Ordered a car for 5 people and 4 large suitcases. The car was not big enough for 4 suitcases so we had to pack in smaller items. We ended up with 2 large suitcases, 2 carryons and one bag.

Poor|Jul 2021They didn't have the correct car for me even though I reserved ~2 months ahead of time. Then, they gave me a smaller car and tried to convince me it was an upgrade. The attendant clearly had no interest in making me happy, she only wanted to get me out of there. When I pointed out that there were vehicles there that would be a true upgrade, she said that they couldn't release those because they were "reserved". I pointed out that I also had a car "reserved" and she couldn't provide me that vehicle, so why were the other reservations "real" while mine didn't really matter? Our luggage didn't fit in the vehicle provided, so we stayed an extra day before driving to our final destination so I could take the chance and try to swap the vehicle the next day. Phone support was also weak, with Alamo support having closed at 7:00pm and anyone else available said they had no power to do anything. Also tried Priceline customer support, they also claimed there was nothing to do, stating they only provide the reservation, not the car. Will never use Alamo, Priceline or Kayak again to get a rental car.

Very Good|Sep 2020Alison was professional and helpful. I wish her computers were running faster! The software was taking a while to load yet she wasn’t getting frustrated. She was quick on her feet and started to boot up another computer. Easy drop off, overall smooth process. Thanks!
The inside of the vehicle could have been sprayed out/ cleaned a little better. There was caked on dirt in the trunk area and dog hair in the back seat. Overall staff was great and accommodating.

Poor|Jul 2020I’ll never use a discount car rental again. I saved $5, but my trip was canceled due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. Since I saved $5 on the discounted price, I was not refundable and they would not allow me to change the rental to a future date. Horrible customer service. Stay away!

Poor|Sep 2022Beware: if your card declines 3 times, they lock that card out of their system and require you to use a different card in your name. I had a strange experience at the counter trying to get my rental. My card kept declining even though I had funds in the account and already had been traveling and using the card. I did get a fraud alert from my bank and replied Yes, which prompted a reply that said “all good to use your card again,” but it declined AGAIN. At that point, the system locked my card out, and I unfortunately didn’t have a backup card with me due to unforeseen circumstances. It was just unfortunate, and I was forced to rent from another company day of. Since AVIS is a sister company, it locked my card out of their system too, limiting me to the more expensive options. I’m just writing this just so that people know that this is a thing to be aware of it, especially if you only have one card! I had no issues with the other rental companies, as they didn’t even need to charge my card until the end of the rental period.

Poor|Aug 2022When I book a car online (Kayak) using my credit card, I expect to have a car on arrival. Instead, the counter representative refuses my card as not having enough credit, leaving me stranded at the destination airport. Inefficient and inconsiderate.

Poor|Sep 2022We booked the car online and we got confirmation. Upon pick up they wouldn’t let us have the car. They told us we couldn’t pay with debit or credit. And we couldn’t take it out of state. We had to frantically go around all the other rental car companies at the airport to find a car. The customer service was very poor.

Okay|Aug 2022Rental was as advertised, however the rental agreement was never emailed until I called the next day for it. Went online to see if there would be any refund if car returned 1 day earlier, amount of refund was only $8.16. Asked at rental return, was told there is no refunds. Will pass on Avis in the future for their lack assistance/customer service.
