Poor|Mar 2023We arrived to the counter to learn that there were no more cars available. At all. We waited forever and finally got a completely different car than we ordered: a gas-guzzling SUV instead of a midsized sedan that we ordered. Not ideal for a huge road trip. The car was very clean but quite dinged up. Everything was WAY more expensive than advertised. Overall I’m super disappointed with Budget. What a misnomer if a business name.

Mediocre|Oct 2022The drop off location and time was not what I selected in my search and didn’t realize until the night before that it had changed. Tried to call to change and it was closed, called the next morning and was informed it would be $659 to change to a closer drop off or to keep the car a couple extra hours. That is insanity. I waited over an hour in line to rent from these guys for pick up after my scheduled time, but was told if I was more than 20 min late it would be $659. What a joke.

Very Good|Mar 2020The pick up was close by but I didnt realize it would not be at the airport. The sign is super small and if your not looking for it you would miss the pick up spot. Our group waited over 30 minutes before they finally picked us up.

Okay|Jan 2020A good initial price, but was then increased when they forced me to buy insurance before I could get the keys. The vehicle was in excellent shape and clean.
The pickup experience was very frustrating and I will not use this company again.

Poor|Jan 2020The car’s front end rattled the whole time. Alignment was off pulling to the right. Drivers door made a rattle like a can of beans the whole time we drove over 60mph. The car was dirty when we received it and had over 10 chips in the windshield. Worst rental I’ve ever had.

I was charged more than what my quoted price was, costing me nearly $100 more than anticipated. Car had a broken rear windshield, no ice scraper, and a slow tire leak in the middle of winter.

Poor|Dec 2019One lady was super helpful and nice, the rest of the staff I interacted with seemed like they hated everything. The second van I received was in excellent condition on the inside, though dented on the outside.
Ended up being about 25% more than the quoted reservation cost with no explanation given. Inconvenient pickup/drop off location, at least for transit/walking. Took a very long time to pickup and drop off despite being the only customer there. First van they were going to give me was FULL of trash in the back. Second one was fine. Otherwise rude staff. put a huge hold on your card, mileage limit for IL residents - they do tell you this upfront when you’re there but it’s a bit sneaky if you’re reserving through a third party site like this. Some other stuff I can’t even think of right now cuz I’m trying to push the whole ordeal out of my head. It was pretty darn cheap though.

Poor|Dec 2019We thought we were getting a great deal on a car rental for two weeks. When we arrived at the business to pick up our car, we were charged over $120 more than our initial payment. The reason was (at first) that they had to come and pick us up from the airport. When we pressed into why, the next reason they gave us was because we should have reserved the car through a third party like Expedia. Which we did-through Kayak. The NEXT reason they gave us for charging us so much more was that we came through the airport. Which made zero sense because that's where I filled all the information out at the time of making the reservation. We then asked to see the manager and someone else came out to talk to us. When we asked the woman if she was the manager she said, "well, kind of, but not really, I just help the manager." We then asked again to see the manager. She went back to get him and came back to us and said the manager refused to see us and would not come out front. We then cancelled our reservation. As we were trying to find an Uber to get to another car rental location, another customer was going through the same run around and was being charged over $100 than what all her paperwork said. We call this unethical and bad business and will never recommend this company.

Okay|Dec 2022You desperately need to fix your system's integration with Enterprise's system. I modified the booking a couple times on Kayak, but Enterprise didn't get alerted to the modification. The emails I received from Kayak had the wrong pick-up locations for Enterprise, but again, because Kayak didn't properly relay the pick-up location to Enterprise, I ended up going to the wrong location. This costed me $40 to take an Uber to the correct location as well as a 2-hour delay in pick-up, almost causing me to miss my drop-off time. I should get some credit for this hassle, which is totally Kayak's fault.

Poor|Dec 2020They treated me very bad they made me wait for 2 hours they were late then changed the book car then wanted to charge me 360 dollars not the amount that was on your application. It was bad I had a child with me and travel bags and the employee refused to use any other type of payment except my credit card which didn’t have that much money I want a compensation for my lost time lost money my agony long wait and missed work day. Unprofessional unacceptable.
Hated all aspects and how they treated me really bad and made me wait two hours although I booked a day before didn’t pick us up and still told us to go get coffee while we wait. It was 45 min and extended to two hours then it was a different car and extraaaaaaaa money not the amount on ur app or even close. 360 dollars for whaaaaat???

Wonderful|Mar 2020I reserved my car from Chicago branch but I pick up my car from Schaumburg, IL location. This was GREAT! Unfortunately I reserved my car with $70 something but Schaumburg brach charged me more which was not acceptable but but I said OK because I was in need to pick up the car to commute to Chicago while there was a rumor on the news about the "state lockdown". Also I had a drop of location in Boston but when I called the Cambridge brach the gentlemen said "you can drop off my location". So this was great again. I didn't have to go to Boston branch for drop off.
I really appreciate about the fast and easy pick up and drop off process and friendly associates. I rented the car for two days but I arrived to Chicago in one day.SO if I new that if I drop off the car in one day I'll be charged just for one day I would go and drop off the car earlier and save money while I already charged extra at the pick up location. I reserved an Enterprise Rental for pick-up at O'Hare, or I thought I did. When I got to O'Hare, the Enterprise manager stated my pick-up location was in the City of Chicago and this happens when booking through 3rd parties like Kayak. Took an extra 15 minutes. Better disclosures!!!!

Poor|Jan 2023The car was reeking of weed. It was not cleaned before renting to us. We had a very poor experience. Had to wait 7 hours in the line even though we had our car booked for pick up at 8 and were there at 7. No planning what so ever, they could have just called the intervals of 30 mins booking slots and could have done everything much faster.

Poor|Dec 2022We had to have a car towed from Battle Creek, Michigan after it was given to us from Kalamazoo undriveable and no replacement car was given to us (and the emergency roadside assistance was absolutely terrible- please listen to all of the recorded conversations because they effectively were running us around and okay with leaving us stranded in Battle Creek) so we had to spend close to $150 on an uber to get to our final destination and then we were charged for an extra day even though we didn’t have a car for the majority of our reservation. Absolutely terrible experience, I’m actively telling everyone never to book with Avis.

Price with add ons is ridiculous Pick up was horrible at Midway desk with only two agents working neither of whom was trying very hard to move the line. I was only 4 people back and had to wait 45 minutes to get to the counter.

Mediocre|Sep 2020Car fit 7, and took us safely out of town and back (about 500 miles)
The rental location's staff was rude and overcharged for insurance I already purchased without telling me. They also held $200 on my card which was not disclosed on this website. Their hours was 8am to 4pm and they where closed Monday (for labor day), didn't have a dropbox and excepted me to return the car the next day when I wouldn't be avialable (and I heard them give another person to option to return the car somewhere else without asking). I ended up returning the car to the airport location 5mins away after call Hertz directly. Also, the car smelled like someone had been smoking in it for days.

The quality of the car was really bad. Stained cloth seats, ripped floor carpet, wiper blades in poor condition, fuel gauge and fuel port were faulty. They only had 1 car available in the class I requested and hence, I was stuck with it even though i pointed out some of the issues.

Good|May 2019There was only one person manning the counter at pickup even though there were other employees there and a line of 6 people. Dropoff wasn't very clear as he didn't explain how the final part of the fee would get charged, but it was quick. Really liked the car I drove - Ford Fiesta.
Honestly, the price seemed very high for only 4 days. I felt a bit taken advantage of.
