Cheap Car Rentals in Pemberton Heights and Bryker Woods, Austin

Cancelled my reservation late afternoon the day prior to travel (with 10:30 AM scheduled pickup) due to lack of cars available.

Our rental was given away, since we were late due to a flight delay. The staff told us we had to call the main hertz office to start a refund and even though they had cars on the lot said they couldn’t help us. One was even on the phone and told another couple she leaves in 1 house so they only had 15 minutes to figure out what they needed before she has other things to do. When we checked online those cars were still available. We are now going through the refund process and went with another rental car service who were a 1000% better!

No options for after hours drop-off at return location. Was only 30 minutes late and Hertz charged me an additional $750 (!!!) to drop off the vehicle at another location. Will never give them another dollar.

The windshield was streaky on the inside and needed cleaning to drive safely at night

You booked me for the vehicle and I then received a call that there were no cars available. I tried to return the call MULTIPLE times with no answer. Then tried to book directly through Enterprise with no cars available.

Super easy access from our location. Very friendly and knowledgeable employee also.

At drop off I asked for a receipt they told me that I’ll received it by mail which till now I didn’t receive any one so I don’t know anything about my rental situation Best regards,

Within the first 15 miles I had to stop to fill up the tire that was low and had to do it two more times on the trip. Was surprised that the tires were not checked before loaning the car out. This was quite a nuisance

Reserved car weeks in advance. Received confirmation of reservation. Received second confirmation the day of the rental. Arrived at rental desk to be told that AVIS had overbooked and there are zero cars available. While we waited for an Uber, I overheard several people receive the same bad news. The desk agent said she had told over 100 people that day "no car is available". It was my assumption that AVIS has the ability to know how many cars they own and how many have been reserved. For the AVIS management to treat their customers and employees this way is completely unacceptable. Their lack of concern for customers caused us transportation problems for the entire weekend. Can you imagine the poor employee that had to take abuse from irate customers for 8-hours. I hope she can find a better job soon. My company and I will avoid AVIS at all cost and I will make sure that everyone who asks hears this story. It's time that business leaders are held responsible for their decisions and stop using Covid as an excuse for everything. AVIS needs to do better or have new leadership. Mr. Ferraro and his team should be embarrassed...but probably are not.

Shift manager at the Austin facility on 35th street was pushy, but drop off (elsewhere) was great. Would recommend another Austin location.

The intermediate SUV was unavailable and i was bumped up to the next size. Very happy it happened. I wouldn't have been happy with anything smaller as I drive an F250. Very comfortable ride. As a 1st time car renter and a senior citizen, I would have appreciated clear information on which locations provide transportation upon returning the rental.

Pick-up and drop-off was very quick and fast. No lines! The car was clean and in great shape.
