Not much - the rep at the satelite pickup location doesn't answer phone calls. He said I could extend the rental as needed. When an extension was necessary he again was not reachable by phone. I had to call a main location who informed me that if I didn't return the car at 2pm on Friday and kept it until Monday (when my vehicle would be ready as per the delay from the autobody) I would incur a $56/day rate (up from the $40/day I had already paid) plus a $250-300 surcharge because I booked through Kayak, they were unable to extend the existing reservation. When I inquired about creating a new booking direct with them from drop off time until Monday they said that would cost me an additional $500.00. I contacted my insurance agent who suggested I call customer service to have them call Hertz on my behalf to negotiate a more reasonable rate, Hertz told the insurance adjuster "they would not discuss my business with him." The adjuster was able to secure me a new rental with Enterprise for $159 through the weekend, however due to Covid Enterprise would not pick me up from drop off at Hertz. I had to hire a taxi service to get from Hertz to Enterprise. All of this was extremely unnecessary. I will never book another Hertz rental again.
Everything - Hertz had every opportunity to provide better customer service, competitive rates and to be more accommodating.
