I had a death in the family during a camping trip in Utah. I had to arrange for transportation to the Enterprise Car rental on Paradise Road in Las Vegas along with all my camping gear. I reserved a car with Enterprise on Paradise Road next to Paris Hotel where my driver was returning a truck he rented at Paris Hotel. They were to drop me off at Enterprise and be on their way. One half hour before arriving in Las Vegas (this is after three hours of driving from Zion National Park) I received a text on my phone to call Enterprise on Paradise Road. They told me they could NO LONGER GUARANTEE THE CAR and it was up to me to find another location in Vegas that had a car available. I finally rented one at the Las Vegas airport. My friends who got me to the airport had to change their flights, return their car at the airport location rather than the Paris Hotel and were charged for that on their rental. I waited in line at Vegas Airport for Enterprise for 40 minutes. Finally I was sent to pick up the rental with a huge cart full of all my camping gear. After inspecting the car I found four big dings on the car and the front bumper was all scratched with no license plate. Keep in mind that I am 78 years old, and was traveling alone and was quite distraught over the death in the family. Once on the highway out of Las Vegas the steering wheel vibrated violently and when pressing on the car peddle I knew there was something terribly wrong with the car but I needed to get back to Camarillo, California for my emergency situation. Somehow the car made it to my home but the issues had continued the five hours it took me to get home. Once home, I parked the car, and removed all of my camping gear. In the morning I could not start the car to get to Enterprise in Camarillo. I was told I needed to pay $55 for a driver to come out and start the car. The Camarillo Towing company started the car and said I should have some follow me to Enterprise (about four miles away) as the car was not running properly and needed a tune up badly and it wasn't the battery and might not make it). He started the car and I arrived at Enterprise on Daily Drive in Camarillo. Upon inspection from "Joey" at Enterprise said, "This car should never have been rented out. It had no front license plate and was not running properly. I am going to put a FREEZE on this account. Someone from Enterprise in Las Vegas will reach out to you." He did not ask for me to pay. I might add that the last car I purchased (which I still own) I bought from Enterprise sales in the San Fernando Valley, CA in 2010. I have a number to call Enterprise at Las Vegas airport but as of today, August 22, I am still dealing with the death in my family. This sums it up for my experience with Kayak and Enterprise. As of today's date I have heard nothing from Enterprise nor do I have time or energy to deal with all of this while dealing with the death in the family. Karen Melford 805-890-1990
